Incorrect Firmware Version For IP2M-841?

I have a malfunctioning IP2M-841B that I'd was going to reapply the current firmware release on again. The 841B is only a couple of weeks old, and it did do the "emergency" update when I configured it. However, it sometimes freaks out and shows me menus and options not on any release I've seen yet. For instance, under Network there were options called VPN, 3G, HTTPS, and Card Overlay. Under Video Detection there were Face Recognition, People Counting and Car Identification options. There were some nice control options under PTZ I'd love to have, like naming and seeing the presets.

Anyway, the camera is slow and goofy, and these hidden options appearing and disappearing can't be helping. Why these options are there is Question #1.

Question #2 - the current firmware listed under Support is 2.420.AC00.10.R, build : 2016-01-06. However, both of my 841s I can check say they are on 2.420.AC00.11.R, build : 2016-01-06. Why and what is the difference? And can I refresh the 11.R version with the 10.R one?

I also allowed an emergency upgrade and the upgrade never completed, and the camera was no longer accessible. After setting powered off for 24 hours the camera became accessible again. I used setup/system/upgrade within camera to install the downloaded firmware file (the one you discuss) and the upgrade worked and the camera restarted like it should after the upgrade. I used Amcrest IP Config program to do this update from a desktop computer. Re-update your firmware this way and you might get good results.

That 10 thingy for the revision number is a website typo which can be proven by looking at the change log for that update.

Nice catch - I read the release notes, but you might say I didn't comprehend them.

I'm almost wanting to try catching these elusive come-and-go menus full of other options, see which ones work. Several that I tried didn't though. Interesting waste of space on Amcrest's part.

I had the same frustration - I saw a lot of interesting functionality in the left menu, then it all disappeared. Does anyone know how to do people counting with an Amcrest camera? I can't find a software vendor and would love it if it was a built in feature.
