Incomplete recording

Post by bhc »

I have the camera IP3M-956W mounted at the front door. Anti-dither is set to 20, sensitivity is set to 30 and delay is set to 10. When someone walks to the front door, rings the bell, waits for a while then leaves, the camera does not record when the person walks away. I increased anti-dither to 30 then 40 and sensitivity up to 60, but that did not help. Is there another setting to tell the camera to record the whole thing. I don't want to increase the sensitivity too much because that will trigger the event when the leaves move or the sun shade changes.

I noticed that you didn't mention the threshold setting. You might review this page and see if it helps.

You may need to use the PC web interface to set the threshold.

My threshold should be set to the default because I don't remember messing around with it. I don't use the PC web interface often. I read the web page but it still does not make sense to me if the person walking to the front door triggers the event but walking away does not trigger the event. It's the same object and same motion except in the opposite direction. Many times my camera captured a bee flying across the camera. So it should be sensitive enough to detect a walking person. It detected that person coming to the door. It should have detected that same person walking away. I think after ringing the bell, that person stood there waiting, there was no motion so the camera stopped recording. But when he started to walk away, that should have triggered another recording. It works if I walk to the door and walk away right away. So maybe there is a limit on how long the camera will record.
