So, this past week, Austin TX has been hounded by a ridiculous ice/snow/freeze. Officially it got down to 9 degrees, but my temp sensor outside registered as low as 4.9 degrees. We got 6-8" of driving snow, two nights of 9 degree temps (with -2 windchill), and 5 days now of highs that are still below freezing. I have two IP2M-841B's mounted under the exterior awning (shielded from direct rain/snow), and an old IP2M-741. All are using POE splitters.
Despite the cold, they have been working flawlessly so far. They've all been mounted outside for the past 2-3yrs.
Even with all the firmware mishaps from Amcrest, I have to say that I'm still pretty impressed with these cameras. I know these are NOT designed for use out doors, but you can buy them used for way cheaper than any Amcrest outdoor rated PTZ. So I would probably replace them with the same model if (when) they die (knock on wood).
Impressed with cold resiliance

Good performance from a group of IP8M-T2499E in -9 degree (yes minus) weather, with just a little lagging while playing back internal micro SD memory. I (thankfully) can not report on how the performance might be if these extreme temps were sustained for more than a week.
Im afraid that arctic storms reaching down to the Gulf of Mexico are going to be the new norm soon.
