Image Delays, Cloud or No Cloud? Night Vision range?

Post by eltee »

Totally a newbie and not really an expert about Wifi, clouds, setup, etc. :? I just mounted an IP3M-943.

The image on both my cell phone and Amazon Echo Show are delayed and the Echo Show often has a "buffering" popup. I really don't need the cloud and I have an SD card. My goal was to have a cam looking at the front door connected to the Echo Show so that we can see who is at the door in real time or close to it.

Would it help to not use the cloud and how would I disconnect from the cloud?

I notice at night the door does not seem illuminated by the IR lights. Do I need to turn them on / set something up? Things right in front of the camera look illuminated but not the door which is about 20 feet away.

THANK YOU for any suggestions.

Hello eltee ,

You can login to your cloud account and delete the camera from there if you do not wish to use the cloud. However, doing so will disconnect the camera from the echo show as its dependent on Cloud. Also the stream from the cloud could be delayed so the delay on echo show.

The App will be more real time but there will be some latency. Also the camera should be able to pick up objects upto 90 feet. So moving objects will be captured even though the area is not illuminated.
