How do I reinitialize PTZ axes using http API?

Post by ertem »

I am using the http API with both 1080 and 720P cameras. My code running remotely has them doing PTZ moves every 15 seconds to snap images remotely. Every few days the PTZ's lose track of where they are, more often in
the elevation axis. I figure the stepper motors are skipping, presumably there are no absolute encoders in there.

Anyway, what is the http to rehome (reindex) the PTZ? I have the API documentation, but could not see
a relevant command. I could live with issuing a rehome command hourly.

Thanks

mce

Example one of the 720P cameras is
Software Version 2.420.AC00.15.R, build : 2016-09-08
WEB Version 3.2.1.377299
ONVIF Version 2.42

Hello ertem ,

Unfortunately the camera web interface itself does not have an option to set home position or move it there. It will need a firmware update to include this feature and we will pass on this to our developers.
