Help Setting Up WIFI
I cannot get the camera to work unless I am plugged into my router. How do I get it to work on my WIFI?
Re: Help Setting Up WIFI
Hi,
You can make the camera wireless by either using a computer or a smartphone.
Using Smartphone (Try this first):

Using a Windows/Mac Computer:
1. Download and install the IP config tool for Windows or Mac from our support page: https://amcrest.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/ca ... -Downloads
2. Hard-wire the camera to the router using the Ethernet cable and open the IP Config tool on the computer. Click on 'Refresh'. It will show the IP address of the camera. Click on the 'e' icon on the extreme right. This will open the camera's web interface on your default browser. Please note that we recommend Internet Explorer/Mozilla Firefox for Windows and Safari for Mac.
3. Login to the interface using the default username and password if you are logging in for the first time. The default username and password is 'admin'. The camera will then ask you for creating a new password.
4. Install the web plugins as prompted by the camera. Some browsers might block the plugin and ask you if you want to allow it. Click on Allow/Trust.
5. Once you see the live video go to Setup > Network > WiFi > Select your wireless network from the list and put correct password for the network. If the password is incorrect it will show an error or else it will show save successful. Click on refresh and the status will change to connected.
6. Now you can unplug the camera from Router and it will work wireless. Refresh the IP config tool again to get the wireless IP address of the camera.
