Hello,
I thought you were using the Ip camera. For the DVR system, there is no hard reset option. You can try the restore factory default setting under Menu > Settings > System. Also try with port 587 and see if that works. Please call our support if possible so that we can look into the issue further.

Re: Gmail Issues
no luck on port 587. **sigh** any way we can figure this out here? It's much more convenient.
Re: Gmail Issues
These are the SMTP settings I use to get my camera to successfully send alerts/etc. to my Gmail account:
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 587
Username: <my Gmail email address>
Password: <my Gmail password>
Sender: <my Gmail email address>
Authentication: TLS
Recipients: <my Gmail email address--can be any email address for which you want alerts emailed to>
Yes I know that the above settings mean that I am telling Gmail to email an Amcrest alarm alert to my own Gmail account (i.e., send an email to myself) but that's okay, as I want any and all Amcrest alarm alerts to be emailed to my Gmail account. I could have easily used my own ISP email SMTP settings but chose to use the Google SMTP settings instead.

Re: Gmail Issues
Thank you. I just changed to TLS and still getting email failed.
Re: Gmail Issues
Just for troubleshooting purposes, is there another email client (e.g., Outlook) you can configure (using the Gmail settings in my previous post) to test if you can send/receive Gmail messages? You may also want to double-check and confirm in your Gmail account settings that both POP and/or IMAP are enabled. FWIW--I don't have 2-step verification enabled on my account (yeah, not necessarily a good thing) but I don't think that should matter...but I could be wrong.pdxrealtor wrote:Thank you. Re: Gmail Issues
Finally gave in and called tech support. They put the port setting on 465, as I'd done at least 10 times before, and it all of sudden started to email me without issues. So.... problem solved.
Re: Gmail Issues
Hello pdxrealtor ,
I am delighted to know that you finally got it working. Sometimes it takes a little touch from the technician to work!!

Re: Gmail Issues
Hello,
I have tried all of the following and still get "Email Test Failed" in Amcrest View Setup. Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong? Thanks!
In Gmail:
1) Disabled 2-step verification
2) Allowed less secure apps
3) Enabled both POP and IMAP
Amcrest View Setup:
1) SMTP Server = smtp.gmail.com
2) Authentication = (tried both SSL and TLS)
3) Port = (tried 25, 465, and 587)
4) Login Anonymously = Disabled
5) Username = My gmail address
6) Password = My gmail password
7) Sender = My gmail address
8) Recipients = My gmail address
9) Attachment = Enabled

Re: Gmail Issues
Solution for me:
1. Get a wired connection
2. Login with wired ip address
3. set SMTP settings
4. Test smtp (this should work)
Optional:
5. Remove the cable
6. Login with the wireless ip addres
7. Test smtp (this should still work)
