Getting POE to work

I have a NV4108E NVR and a IP2M-841W camera. I connect the camera to one of the POE ports on the back of the NVR using the Ethernet cable included with the camera. The camera does not get power. If I connect the 5V wall power supply to the camera, everything works fine.

Is there something else that needs to be configured to make the POE to work?

Also, can non-POE devices be connected to the POE ports of the NVR without damage?

The IP2M-841W is not a POE camera. Amcrest's POE cameras have an "E" in the model number.

Yes, you can connect non-POE cameras up to the NVR.
