Getting Files with HTTP API

Post by jeff_greenshed »

I'm trying to get files off the camera via the HTTP API. Following the directions in the API docs, I'm first making a url request like this:

Code: Select all

http://[user]:[password]@[camera_ip_address]/cgi-bin/mediaFileFind.cgi?action=factory.create
That works great, and gives me this response:

Code: Select all

result=1884501616
Then, I take that finder ID, and use it to assemble a request for a file finder:

Code: Select all

http://[user]:[password]@[camera_ip_address]/cgi-bin/mediaFileFind.cgi?action=findFile&object=1884501616&condition.Channel=1&condition.StartTime=2017-03-17%2001:00:00&condition.EndTime=2017-03-18%2001:00:00
This always fails with a response of

Code: Select all

Error
but an HTTP response code of 200.

I've tried a bunch of different types of parameter formats, nothing has worked, and I can't get any other more helpful error.

Has anyone gotten this flow to work? What are the secrets?

the channel # could be incorrect. Try changing the "Channel=1" to "Channel=0".
