FTP Snapshot Issue
Re: FTP Snapshot Issue
Thanks for the tip, Soek! That was half of my problem. I am running the server in a docker container and needed to specify a set of passive ports. The other half was using a masquerade address for passive mode.
Re: FTP Snapshot Issue
Thanks for the suggestions. This was really bothering me so I took some time yesterday to figure it out.
I have Windows 10, and am using FileZilla Server for FTP. The directories for snapshots are being made, but no files are being written.
From the posts here and from general info on Passive mode, I was focusing on the ports, setting port ranges in both the server and Firewall. I only wanted this activity to be on my LAN, (ie, not accessible from the Internet), so I didn't touch the Router/NAT.
I added entries in Windows Firewall for the ranges suggested by Soek, then notice that the ports the camera was using ranged from low 48000s to mid 49000s, so I set those. Nothing changed. I was poking around in the firewall, and noticed that I was focusing on INBOUND rules. There was no rules set for FTP in the OUTBOUND rules.
Success! I added a rule for "FileZilla Server.exe" in the OUTBOUND rules, with no specific port range, and it worked immediately. That's the only thing I had to do.
I should note that I'm still very unhappy that the system forces this directory structure vs a unique file name.

THANKS. That fixed it for me as well. I now get files saved.stanton wrote:Success! I added a rule for "FileZilla Server.exe" in the OUTBOUND rules, with no specific port range, and it worked immediately. That's the only thing I had to do.

Next is to work on a PowerShell script to handle renaming the files and moving them into a simple folder layout. Then add the conversion of the DAV file to something useful.
I like the additional features of this camera compared to my Foscam but some of these simple settings are WAY behind what Foscam had.

Re: FTP Snapshot Issue
Hi, is the original topic really solved?
I have the 841 with FW: 2.420.AC00.17.R, Build Date: 2017-03-22 / no newer FW with German PAL available
If I press the snapshot in the WEB GUI it is generated to the ftp location.
For event driven snapshots nothing is working. As earlier explained also on my camera the Camera->Video-> Snapshot-Type is ignored, if I set it to Event. It is always jumping back.
And when I set the Event -> Video recognition -> area with the 4 regions and check this in the Android APP, it only shows Region 1.
Summary: not any Snapshot is working.
Any ideas?

Re: FTP Snapshot Issue
I've also been banging me head against the wall regarding this issue. I have an IP3M-941 that used to save snapshots to FTP fine. But then all of a sudden just refused to work. I tried all sorts of things, enable NFS, AFS, tried through FTP, through NAS, nothing worked. How can it just stop working without any changes? I see that other users are having the same problems. I have several Foscams that work flawlessly don't know why Amcrest is not getting the much needed fix for this issue.
