Front Porch Camera

Post by zplugger »

What would be the best camera for front porch, 2.8mm or 4.0mm. Not covering a large area but want good face detail.

Sadly that isn't easy to tell you.. TO be Honest neither... However if you have only them 2 options then the 4.0mm lens will give you a tighter FOV where the 2.8mm is more wide FOV... I have a 3.6mm Dome Camera facing out at eye level. Of my wifes height... I also have a Mini dome PTZ 10x zoom that is connected to a Line Crossing sensor that then turns the camera to preset zoom level to my wifes height in that area. Then 2 other cameras on motion will trigger another 2 presets at zoom of my wifes height. well one is at zoom factor 2x but will give me the ability to track if needed... I do have a 32x Samsung that used to be there however the belt last year broke and can't find the replacement so it is a Shelf Queen right now... I have hope to get it back in service soon because Motion tracking worked great. It just don't like the Cold and last winter got cold belt broke in 2 places. It is a indoor camera without heater. SO it is my fault really... Took my 10x out of service last night doing some cleaning and adjustment and will put it back in service before the day is over or tomorrow lol...

I would to be honest put in a PTZ camera if one could afford it... Here is a Picture of my little Mini next to a 841 almost same size lol kind of lol
