To the software engineers (if you are 'listening':
First, the problems:
90% of the time, when attempting to control the camera remotely, Pan, Tilt and Zoom are a complete crap-shoot: Click and HOPE. 2 degrees ? 200 degrees ? wait and see. try again. It's a kind of game. Zoom ? "click" = full zoom in. Click out = full zoom out. Having a less than pristine internet connection doesn't help.
Recommendation: P/T one click should equate to 5% of the field of view. That means more movement when zoomed all the way out, and less when all the way in, and one 'click', regardless of dwell/duration = one click = 5% movement.
Same principle for zoom - 10 or 20 clicks to get from full out to full in. NOW the user has CONTROL, and it's no longer a wild video game trying to get "on target".
Want to make P/T even better ? Find a way to make the camera CENTER on a point picked within the field of view. THAT would be truly phenomenal !!!
I'm sure this could be done as a firmware upgrade, right ?!!
