Event shows at the end of recording

I have 2 cameras, both set for motion detection. Why does an event display at the very end of the recording. The recording may last 45 seconds, but the actual event shows at the 41 second mark. What settings do I need to change? (shouldn't the actual event be displayed much earlier in the recording?) Using Amcrest Surveillance Pro and viewed on desktop PC.
