I'm trying to setup email on an IP2M-841 to connect to a local SMTP server that is set to not require authentication or encryption from the local internal net.
The email test button says "Email test Failed".
it doesn't even try to connect to the SMTP server, I'm capturing packets, I don't see the camera ever attempt to connect to the SMTP server.
There is nothing that I can see in the amcrest log.
Any clues welcome.
How can I attempt to diagnose this?
Email Test Failed, never attempts to connect, how to diagnose?

Figured it out - A really bad UI/UX.
It was failing on input validation because it didn't think I had any recipients. I wasn't understanding you need to click the '+' button to make the recipient "stick".

Where does one report bugs?
Seems like there are several bugs here.
There is the above bug where it should indicate the email test can't succeed because there is no valid recipient. it should have done validation at 'Save' or at 'Email Test'.
There also an input validation bug. It won't accept user+folder@domain.tld as a valid email address. I'm assuming it tripping on the '+' which valid as part of the username. Curiously it does the validation on clicking '+'.

Re: Email Test Failed, never attempts to connect, how to diagnose?
If i check "Login Anonymously", when I click Email Test it also reports an immediate "Email Test Failed" without ever connecting to the SMTP server.
So I'm guessing there is some validation it's trying to do any failing, but I have no clue what it thinks is wrong.
Anyone get "login anonymously" (sic) to work?

Re: Email Test Failed, never attempts to connect, how to diagnose?
The end result is that following the instructions for gmail works. However, I could not make SMTP to a plain local server with no authentication (no login) work. The "Email Test" fails without attempting to connect with login anonymously checked.
