email notifications: "Amcrest View Pro" vs "web interface"

First, the good news:
I was able to successfully set up motion detection on my cameras (ie, IP2M-841, IPM-721).
I was able to set up and enable email notifications via the "web interface".
I was able to set up and enable push notifications via "Amcrest View Pro" app.

Now, the bad news:
Via the "Amcrest View Pro" app, I want to be able manually disable email notifications -- WITHOUT disabling motion detection. I haven't figured out how to do this.

Is there a way to disable/enable email notifications via the "Amcrest View Pro" app without changing the motion detection settings? (I always want motion detection to be enabled so that all motion gets recorded to its SD.)

I don't see a setting in the app but you can do it by logging directly in to the camera: select event, video detection, and uncheck "send email." I just tested it and motion triggered a save to the SD card like it has been but an email alert w/ snapshot was no longer sent.

Thanks for your response; I should have also confirmed that I know how to accomplish this via the "web interface."

Hello amcr_hf ,

Could you try disabling the snapshot option from the app from Configuration center > Motion detect > Advanced config > snapshot and see if the emails alerts stop?

Looks like I spoke too soon:

This trick did stop the email alerts for my IPM-721.
However, my IP2M-841 still sends email alerts (without any snapshots).
Both my IPM-721 and IP2M-841 have the same settings for motion detection.

Even though I have snapshots disabled, any hunches why my IP2M-841 is now sending emails (while my IPM-721 doesn't)?

Ideally, I'd like to be able to enable/disable email alerts via the app (while always keeping motion detection enabled).
