I have set up my system to send out email alerts on motion detection and include a snapshot.
I am receiving the alerts but 1/2 of the snapshot image is missing, the bottom half cut off or sometime weird colors. This occurs regardless of which camera detects the alert or which email address I use.
The cameras all work fine and if I take a snapshot from the camera they are okay. Its only when the system (NV2104E with 4 IP2M cameras) attaches the snapshot to the email that half the image is lost.
Anyone else experience this problem and know how to fix? Its great getting alerts, but frustrating not being able to see the snapshot of what caused the motion detect.
Email alerts missing half of attached snapshot image
Re: Email alerts missing half of attached snapshot image
I don't believe it is an email problem. The NVR is sending out alert emails which I am receiving successfully. It seems to be a problem with how the NVR is attaching the image to the email.
Note I can take a snapshot manually, attach it to an email and send it no problem, but when the NVR does this automatically half the snapshot is missing. If I change the camera settings from color to Black and White then I get a full image attached, but that is not a reasonable solution. I did not buy 2MP camera's to have to run them at low resolution to get the system to work...
Any ideas???

Re: Email alerts missing half of attached snapshot image
I called Amcrest support. The technician looked at all the settings and found everything to be in order and could not figure out why snapshots were being cropped in half. They said they were escalating the issue to the engineering team in Houston and that I would get a call in the next day to help troubleshoot.
That was 4 days ago.
Hoping someone can help.

Re: Email alerts missing half of attached snapshot image
In my case, image is missing occasionally with my motion alert. Most of the times it is attached. I wonder what I can do to fix it.
Re: Email alerts missing half of attached snapshot image
I’m having the same issue. Did they ever respond?
Re: Email alerts missing half of attached snapshot image
Hello Aperrucci,
Can I have the model number of the device and how they are connected? (wired/wireless).

I have the same issue. Email alerts snapshots, show cutoff images ... Were you able to fix this?
Re: Email alerts missing half of attached snapshot image
I have the same problem. Part of the e-mail miss an attached picture. This makes the e-mail alerts quiet uselss, when every event is needed. I had a camera from another well known camera builder which biulds cameras mainly for indoor use. With every event, I received an e-mail with a series of six pictures or so. That was really helplul. No cloud needed, every information could be seen from the e-mail series. I really miss this option from Amcrest.
Re: Email alerts missing half of attached snapshot image
I observed in some e-mails, that an attached picture is first there, but then, for instance when I click on it, the attached picture disappeared. Is an anti-virus mechanism responsible for this?
Re: Email alerts missing half of attached snapshot image
Or is a spam fighter responsible for the loss of pictures? I use Thunderbird.
