I just installed the Amcrest AD110 WiFi Camera-Pro. I notice that after installing the chime control module, one of the two rods in the legacy doorbell chime now continuously vibrates ... not impacting the actual doorbell chime, but certainly making enough noise that it's noticeable. The doorbell is configured as mechanical.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix? It's a bit annoying.
Thanks in advance!

Doorbell Chime "chatters" after install of Chime Controller
Re: Doorbell Chime "chatters" after install of Chime Controller
Hello and Welcome to the Forum...
Sadly the fix is going to be one of 2 things.. Either buying a new Doorbell like maybe a Mulit pick tone Digital one or the way if you need keep this one is adding a 25watt 1 ohm Resistor you might be able to get away with a 10watt but the Price for them are roughly the same so might as well get the 25watts for a cooler running resister..

Thank you very much Revo2Maxx! I have no special affinity for the existing doorbell chime and will happily replace it with a model that will work better ( more quietly ) with the Amcrest unit. All the best!
Re: Doorbell Chime "chatters" after install of Chime Controller
As I plan to replace my existing mechanical chime. Can anyone suggest a mechanical chime that is known to be compatible with the Amcrest chime controller module? Thanks!

I found this GREAT list of compatible door chimes!

Very common problem. I already upgraded to a 30v transformer and am going to switch to a digital chime. Those rods cant vibrate if they don't exist, right?stevesls wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 7:07 pm I just installed the Amcrest AD110 WiFi Camera-Pro. 30v or 30va aka meaning 16vac 30va have to be careful with wording when it comes to these doorbells as they don't like much voltage above 18vac Even though they can work upto 30ish the chime kit can't take the over current states it would go in doing so..
Sadly it is easy to make something really bad happen when people see oh someone said they are using a 30v transformer.. One of the reasons I have a Dislike for the wording under the VAC and VA... VA=Watts and V or in the case of the doorbell VAC is Voltage Alternating Current.*. However when people use v behind a number with nothing following that gives the impression that is the voltage used...
Reason for your Vibrate or Ghost rings is caused by a low current model doorbell normally a 16vac 10va Mach Doorbell. When adding the amcrest doorbell camera and the chime kit it pulls power from both wires to the camera one from the Transformer and one from the doorbell, The Chime Kit normally can suppress the Transient noise however the doorbell sees or able to accept different frequency then what the chime kit was able to filter out from these noises as the voltage Alternates from 1 to the other it causes this phenomena.
