Hey experts,
Let's say that I'm viewing my Amcrest camera via P2P from the Windows Amcrest surveillance application - and they are both in the same network at home.
Does the video leave my network, go out to the internet, and come back? Or does it go straight from the camera to the Windows machine?
The reason I ask this is because I have a very restricted data cap - and I don't want viewing to be counted towards this.
Is there a way I can test this?
Does P2P leave the network? Or does it stay on LAN?

Unplug your router from the modem. Or unplug the phone/cable/satellite connection from your router/modem. Now check if you get your internet work, then check if your crammer still works.

I thought about that, but I think the P2P requires at least some internet to work. Otherwise how would the serial detection work? (I suspect that the camera periodically pings some Amcrest server with its serial number to identify its IP address.)
