Does Amcrest have any software that is 100% compatible with the features of the ProHD 1080P (2.1MP) WiFi Security IP Camera IP2M-841? That is a rhetorical question. The fact is they DO NOT.
I have used the IPConfig with Internet Explorer and the Surveillance Pro software. Each has an entirely different configuration parameters for this camera.
I have found through very careful experimentation that video motion detection is hap-hazard. Sometimes it responds. Sometimes it does not. Totally unpredictable. If Audio detection is enabled an email is sent and a recording is started every minute. Yes, and email is sent every minute even when sensitivity is set to zero and threshold is set to 100. I have VERY CAREFULLY tried many combinations of configurations and system behavior is extremely unpredictable.
The camera does an excellent job in a live mode. PTZ is great. Manual recording does well. But detection response is totally unacceptable. For all intents and purposes completely useless.
Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

Re: Detection parameters unpredictable
I have just perused some other threads about the detection issues.
It is my opinion that while Amcrest has an excellent camera in the IP2M-841 they come up extremely short on their software. They seem to have the same kinds of issues as other major hardware manufacturers have. The people that write the software do not use these systems and go on some specification provided by a corporate white-color type who also does not use the product and does not have an understanding of what is needed and how the real-world operates. There appears to be no fix for this as the Amcrest position on this appears to be......"That's too bad. Deal with it."

Re: Detection parameters unpredictable
Did you add the cameras to Amcrest's Cloud?

Jordan77: No. I don't believe that makes any difference on how the camera responds to events.
I have done factory resets, reboots and reprogram multiple times. This camera/software simply is not capable of handling events in any reliable manor.

Re: Detection parameters unpredictable
The reason I ask is because the cloud settings (including detection zone, sensitivity, and threshold) will get messed up by the Amcrest cloud settings. Once I removed my cameras from the cloud I didn't have nearly the issues with motion detection.
I seem to get th most false positives at night. I too have messed around a lot with sensitivity and threshold. I have not however enabled audio detection for the reason you mentioned. For me the most reliable way was to target the area I most wanted to be alerted on and skip everything else. Meaning I cleared everything off the detection map except for a few very specific blocks. It sucks that I have to do this instead of being able to use the camer as they were designed.

Re: Detection parameters unpredictable
I have gotten each function to work at some point. It is just not reliable or repeatable in any particular condition. Email notifications have not worked for several days now. Even after reboot. Test email works fine. As I have stated the detection capabilities are in the toilet. I truly believe it is either an incompatibly with the PC software and the camera software or just poorly written camera software. Any way you cut it it is unreliable.
Re: Detection parameters unpredictable
I should also note that I have resorted to using only the app notifications. No email.
Re: Detection parameters unpredictable
I am in the same boat. Detection and notification worked well for a while, so I turned motion detection off when I came back home. When I turned it back on, it doesn't detect or send notifications anymore.
Re: Detection parameters unpredictable
Incorrect. The cloud settings override settings elsewhere. I was having various problems until I deleted the camera from Amcrest Cloud. Once I did that, no more problems.tnchuck100 wrote:Jordan77: No. I don't believe that makes any difference on how the camera responds to events.
