How do you go about deleting what has been recorded so far?

Hello Chris04626,

Please specify the model of the product and where you are recording. This helps us in giving you a better explanation.

hello Chris04626,

To format the HDD, you can go to settings > Storage > HDD manage and click format. This erases everything in the disk unfortunately. Another option is to use the 'Auto delete old files' option under Settings > System > Auto maintain. This way it automatically erases recording that are older by the number of days you specify. It does not have an option to delete individual files.

I have the same model and encountered the same problem. Did not realize that every time our time changes from DST to standard and vice versa, all the recordings during the time that we were not able to update the time had been saved in our DVR hard disk and not deleted automatically. Today, after more than 4 years of owning this DVR system, I found out our DVR is at zero free space and is not recording anymore but is still showing old recordings despite the custom auto delete old files setting. I have tried everything to no avail until I found Melvin's solution. Now my DVR shows it's original free space and the recording option is working again. I know this is a very old post but thanks nevertheless, Melvin.
