Connecting camera to POE

We are able to connect a new bullet camera IP2M-842EB using the DC cable. It works fine. As soon as we put a POE injector inline on the CAT5 and plug the power supply into the injector, the camera stops working. We have tried several different injectors and it still won't work. Is there a special injector needed or a switch somewhere that turns off the POE capabilities of the camera?

There is no such POE switch on the camera. Any 802.3af compliant active POE injector should work.
