Capture camera between times

Hello,
I have been searching for an answer for quite some time.
My goal is to download a recording file between time X and Y using the Amcrest API. As the API suggest, I can use the "Download media file between times" call.
Using curl, I am left with a .cgi file. (Even when using http). I cannot, however, open this file. I tried using ffmpeg to convert it to mp4 but I am getting a bunch of errors as it seems to not recognize the file.
I tried changing the curl Content-Type to video/mp4 yet no success.

Documentation doesn't specify anything after the call and I have no idea how to open the file now.

Try using a text editor like Notepad to view the cgi file which probably contains text, and may tell you something.
The edge storage files may also be retrievable using ONVIF Profile G if you can figure out how to do it.
