I have the email settings set, and the test email works.
I have Event > Motion Detection enabled. Schedule all green. 'Record' checked & 'Send Email' checked.
I can see that the motion detection events are being registered in the 'Alarm' section and in the 'Playback' timeline.....
But no email is sent-- Once again, tried the test email several times and the test email comes through every time.
Thank you!

Re: Can't get motion detection email to work
Hello rangerlugnut,
Do you use any email client software to access your email? In this case it could be filtering the emails with attachment. Also which is your email provider? Do check the spam folder as well. Try using a different email address and see if that works.

-No I don't use an email client..the message is being sent to a gmail address.
-No attachment filtering, nothing in spam folder
-Different email address, same result.
Once again, the test emails come in every time.
Alarm Event: Mail_Test
Alarm Input Channel: 1
Alarm Start Time(D/M/Y H:M:S): ...
Alarm Device Name: AMC00....
&com_str.alarminname:

Re: Can't get motion detection email to work
I just got mine to work with gmail.
but, then gmail started refusing any connections. so I had to add app passwords to gmail and then it all started working again.

Re: Can't get motion detection email to work
I was having same issue. Test email worked great, but no email on the alarm.
I did find this.... https://amcrest.com/forum/post2614.html#p2614
Apparently, you have to select "Snapshot" under the event setup for it to send an email. Under the email setup, if you select attachment, then you'll get a photo, otherwise it's just text.

Re: Can't get motion detection email to work
Created an account just to tell you thanks for posting this! I have been fighting with this piece of junk for the past 4 hours trying to get it to send an e-mail. Seems idiotic that you have click the snapshot button for the e-mail functionality to work even if you do not want a snapshot picture.
About the only good thing I have to say about this camera so far is the picture quality. Their applications are complete garbage (Windows, IOS and the built in web app on the camera).
Thanks again for saving me 4 more hours or from throwing this thing out the window!
