Can I pass my (older) Amcrest camera authentication info right on the URL?

Post by mlevin77 »

Software Version 2.520.AC00.18.R, Build Date: 2017-06-29
WEB Version 3.2.1.453504
ONVIF Version 2.42(V2.2.2.428697)
S/N AMC000UTRE84X5K0S5

can I format a string like this:

http://10.0.1.231/user=admin&pwd=password

in a browser, and get back a snapshot image, like for my other cameras? What's the right syntax for this one?

Hello and welcome to the forum.

My oldest camera an IP2M-841B still responds to this call (obviously the IP address will be different for you)-
http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@192.168.178.22 ... apshot.cgi

This is in a home made app that uses IE browser components. As embedded user authentication is now, I believe, deprecated it might not work in all browswers.

p.s. just tried it in latest version of Firefox and it works.
