My 2M IP cams continue to be unreliable. I’ve installed eWeLink WiFi plugs on all cameras. I started out cycling power remotely when one fails, then cycling power once per day, then I went to morning and early evening, now I’m thinking of going to mid day too. Not every camera craps out every day, but I’d say one of the three go out at least once every 2 days randomly.
I’ve checked signal strength, I’ve added a WiFi booster, I added a higher gain antenna, nothing but restarting the cameras has worked.
Do you think cycling power so often will cause and eventual hardware issues?
Can cycling power often cause camera damage?
Re: Can cycling power often cause camera damage?
If as you say one or other of the three drops out at most once every two days, wouldn't a reboot once a day cover it?
I think I'm right saying that IP2M cameras are only capable of operating on 2.4GHz wifi which has further reach but is also usually far more congested in most localities than 5GHz. Is there any chance of connecting them by ethernet which is far less problematical. I also have three IP cameras but because of the construction type of my house, only one of them works reliably on wifi.
What is the signal quality reported in each of your camera's Setup/Network/WiFi section. The camera of mine that works well on wifi shows 5 out of 5 bars and my router reports that it is connected at a speed of 325Mbps.

Re: Can cycling power often cause camera damage?
I added cheap $6 GOSUND smart plugs from Ebay, I now cycle my power on all cameras twice a day. This has been a great bush fix for my camera drop out issue! I've got enough wifi power, its just something with these cameras that cause them to lock up.
