Have had an issue for awhile now and starting to get rather annoying and tedious. Ideally what happens is amcrest cloud stops recording motion events randomly and will not do so again unless I power cycle the camera off and on. It allows me to view live view however but no motion events recorded. Once I power cycle the camera amcrest cloud motions work perfectly for a few hours until they stop again on their own...again requiring me to power cycle the camera.
That said the internal SD card continues to work perfectly fine and records motion continuously; hence clearly pointing issues at amcrestcloud.
At first I thought the camera was too far from router and the wifi connection dropping could be causing this so i upgraded to a stronger router and wifi extender...however i see no reason why amcrestcloud cannot continue working on motion events once connection is re-established again seeing that the camera clearly does maintain online connectivity.
Anyone with similar issue and has a solution to this...????
If this keeps happening i'll have to cut my losses with amcrest cloud and find a cloud storage provider that actually records motion without me needing to continually reboot hopefully
Camera loses motion recording to AmcrestCloud
Re: Camera loses motion recording to AmcrestCloud
Sounds like a connection problem. Try changing the port number.

Tried many times with no luckMildew wrote:Sounds like a connection problem. Try changing the port number.
Re: Camera loses motion recording to AmcrestCloud
I have the EXACT same issue. Camera works fine for 4-5 days... then the cloud suddenly stops taking the recordings. The camera is online because I can access it remotely. And it won't start again until restting it by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
It's not the port number.
Amcrest won't respond. They respond and ask me for the model number of the camera - then I never hear back from them!
This really removes ALL SECURITY functions of the camera because if you can't rely on it to record - it's totally USELESS.

Re: Camera loses motion recording to AmcrestCloud
Hello Jon York ,
As the cloud is more dependent on the network, it might not be as reliable as recording to an SD card inside the camera. After a network outage, we have seen some cameras not being able to record to cloud without restart. Please ensure the below settings are
1) Ensure camera has a static IP address set under network settings
2) Ensure camera is upto date with latest firmware.
3) Ensure adequate upload bandwidth on your network and camera has good wifi signal if connected wirelessly.
