The camera uses infrared light for night vision. IR is heat energy and the glass blocks these wavelengths and acts as an insulator against the heat. Your options are to mount the camera outside or to turn off the IR in the camera and mount an external IR light outside that can provide the light source for the camera. Here's a link to an IR light you can buy on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Phenas-48-led-Inf ... s=ir+light

I struggled with the same issue and ended up mounting my camera outside. Best of luck.

I am facing the same problem, camera behind a window. I do habe an external IR beamer outside, but when I switch the camera to not use night vision, then how can I still enable the visible light filter (that kicks in with a clicking sound) without enabling the IR LEDs?

There's no mention of which camera (I've got IP2M-841B) but I ended up switching night mode off and installing outdoor lighting with PIR sensors. I find that when the lights are triggered the image I get is acceptable. The lights are both a convenience for legitimate callers and a deterrent for the others (except for cats, foxes, hedgehogs etc.). I've got 6 x lights all with 9 watt led lamps so no problem with using too much power.
My AMCREST Cameras:-
2 x IP3M-941B firmware V2.620.00AC00.3.R, Build Date: 2019-12-18
1 x IP2M-841B firmware V2.420.AC00.18.R, Build Date: 2019-08-03
