Bullet Cam Install
Bullet Cam Install
I am getting ready to install my first Amcrest bullet camera on the side of my home. I am replacing a dome camera that had a mount to hide the connections. I am unable to recess the wires here. I’d really rather not purchase the $27 mount from Amcrest for this if I can keep from it...that’s about 1/4 the cost of the camera itself. It is at the corner of my house and I can hide the connection in the trim to keep it from being exposed. The fittings have rubber seals and I’d likely wrap them with electrical tape as well. Has anyone tried this or have any better recommendations on a different mount? I’ve installed lots of cameras before through my job but always have been able to recess connections or use a mount. Thanks in advance.
Re: Bullet Cam Install
Sorry I can't be much help. All my cameras are dome cameras and I didn't use junction box on any of them and they all look perfect/flush to the eave/no wires showing. They blend in very well.

Hello Reddeard welcome to the Forum if I hadn't already said so..
So while there are times that a Box is needed and like you were saying for your last camera was to hide the wires... When you have a camera that don't have a Water proof box or Backbox as some call them and would have loads of wiring just hanging around the next best thing is to add a Sister box. This box can have 1 to many connections that are pass wires though with washer screw to box and forms a seal... These can be bigger or smaller depending on your needs... Here is a picture of a 2 port. Also seeing you don't or may not need to put in the Power box that is also remove able...
