I read in someone else's post that they couldn't download video as well. They changed to a simple password and it started working and this fixed my issues with playback/downloading as well. This software has a bug where if you use a complex password, you can't use playback or download videos. In my case, my password had an '@' in it. I changed it temporarily to "password' and everything works.
Amcrest: Can you please address this issue?

Hello Malathion,
I will report this issue to the R7D team for testing. So to confirm the play back does not work on any web browser if the password has a special character like the @?

That is correct. Here's another post with a user having a similar issue:

"Evidently Amcrest software does not like certain characters within the password. THIS held me up for hours try to just get the PC software to work. I could log in but could not see the video. After trying different passwords it started working. After making the password even more simpler now I can download!"

Excellent catch Malathion! I had the exact same problem and removing the @ fixed it. What an odd bug. Hope this helps Amcrest resolve this issue. Thanks for posting this workaround. Saved me a ton of time and frustration.
