Audio only rtsp URL for IP2M-841 (Raspberry Pi Baby Monitor)

Post by dmordan »

Hello everyone,

On my old Foscam I was using a Raspberry Pi as an audio monitor for our kids room. I was able to kick off omxplayer and tap into the audio feed using the following command:

omxplayer rtsp://username:password@192.168.1.102:80/audio

This prevented us from having to keep a phone or tablet (plus a glowing screen) on all the time.

I recently purchased the IP2M-841 and although I can access the rtsp URL via VLC at:

rtsp://username:password@192.168.1.200:80/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0

omxplayer cannot play this stream. I cannot seem to find a channel or subchannel setting that works for this purpose.

Does anyone have a URL I'm not aware of or another way I can play an audio only stream from Linux?

Thanks,
Dan

Hello dmordan ,

In that RTSP URL, make sure you are using the RTSP port of the camera after the ip address. By default its 554.

For the audio stream , please refer to the audio section in the below document.

Try replacing the "&" with "?" before subtype

Hi...did you know you cant use special characters in the PW?! I was just copying my PW from a PW vault not realizing that on a computer the special characters will copy just fine however on the Amcrest app they don't actually copy, just leave the numbers and lettersand auto remove the special characters. I kept getting a authentication error on the SS console before I figured out what was going one.
