When viewing LiveView from a remote location, no audio comes through when the icon is clicked to allow me to listen to the camera's microphone.
The bidirectional talk feature doesn't seem to work either. All I hear is strange noises like some kind of interference (think squealing-type noises).
If I'm at home and in another room monitoring the camera, the camera's speaker works fine - I can hear the TV that's in the same room as the camera. I haven't tried the bidirectional talk and I'm not at that location at the moment.
Does anyone else have a problem with the audio when viewing remotely through the LiveView plugin and/or know of a fix? I may not get a chance to contact tech support by phone before they close tomorrow.

Hello ksp01 ,
The audio issue if only from a remote location could be caused by slow internet upload bandwidth. Have you tried accessing the camera using its IP/Domain using port forwarding? Please give that a try to see how it works.

Re: Audio and Bidirectional Talk
Hi Melvin,
Thanks for your response. I had attempted to use port forwarding last week without success, then learned through the forum I could just view remotely via amcrest.com. I think it may be some time before I can try to set up port forwarding again.
Meanwhile I phoned tech support and was told to turn down the volume at home. I'm at a remote location now but will be able to try that shortly. I'll post how that goes.

Hi,
Sure please let us know how it works. Also, if you can contact support when you are at the camera location, we can help you with port forwarding as well.

Re: Audio and Bidirectional Talk
Thanks, Melvin. That didn't help. I'll try to call support when I'm at the camera location when support hours are in effect.

Re: Audio and Bidirectional Talk
What port should be forwarded?
Re: Audio and Bidirectional Talk
Hello,
For remotely viewing the Ip camera on a browser (other than the amcrestview.com portal), you need to set up port forwarding for the http and TCP port of the camera.

Re: Audio and Bidirectional Talk
Is audio (microphone and speaker) supported on the 720P HDCVI system using the bullet cameras? Or, do we need to hook up external mic/speaker to this system to get audio?
Re: Audio and Bidirectional Talk
Hello SunniSteve,
The cameras that comes with the DVR does not support audio. It is possible to connect external MIC.
