ATC-1201 infrared not working

Hi I hope you can help.  I have a ATC-1201 that I have been having a great success with for the last couple of years but the night  vision, infrared flash, has recently  stopped working.  The unit will take video and pics at night but no IR  seems to come on.  Any suggestions?

If you are using the device with battery try with DC power adopter and check if IR works.

There is no DC connection but I did try fresh batteries, and no help.
