I've just set up my first Amcrest Camera, an IPM-723B. Everything seems to be working but I don't understand a few things about the Amcrest P2P option. When in P2P mode is the app on my smartphone talking directly to the Camera or is it talking to Amcrest which is in turn talking to the camera? If the latter all is well.
If the former I - do not want to use Amcrest as in intermediary. I would like to have my smart phone app talk directly to the camera though port 443. I would have to set up port forwarding but I don't mind this.
Questions
1. Can the amcrest app itself be configure to talk directly to a camera though an IP address while it is on the LAN and a Dynamic DNS address when it is off lAN.
2. If the Amcrest App cant' do this - which APP can?
3. What setting do I have to configure on the Camera to bypass Amcrest totally and just use port 443?
Thanks

App direct to Camera
Re: App direct to Camera
Hello bigdredred,
1) Yes the app can directly connect to camera wither through local IP or remote (Must set up port forwarding). You can add camera to the app using IP/Domain method.
2) NA
3) Port forwarding must be set up for the TCP port of the camera. The app will only use the TCP port. HTTPS is currently not supported.
