Anyone have a CGI for Changing Temperature setting

Post by Revo2Maxx »

So wondering if there is a CGI for changing the Setting from C to F in my Camera? Here is the current set..

table.All.VideoWidget[0].Temperature.TemperatureUnit=Centigrade

Would like to Change to Fahrenheit..

I have looked in all the CGI files I have and not able to find anything however there are some CGI that others seem to find that isn't listed and is why I am asking if anyone knows of anyway of making this change..

This is from my Amcrest 850EB

This setting isn't listed in the most recent guide that I have, but this will work to change the temperature unit in the videowidget category:

Code: Select all

http://<ip_addr>/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&VideoWidget[0].Temperature.TemperatureUnit=Fahrenheit
Now, I don't know if the camera treats that just as a different label for the video display or if it will actually apply the C>F conversion as well.

So just wondering if there is a command that you might know of that could give me some Details about my Camera? Reason I ask is that on another camera I think it was the 853 or 858 and while I know these are updated cameras to the 850 my guess is by a few Generations. They have the ability from the menu to get a List of Camera data. Shows like life, zoom in and out, IRC connections.. Oddly looking at the online manual for the 850 at the last page shows this info however I am going to guess that it was a cut and paste of a newer model and that page isn't in my listing and FW for the cameras last update was 2017..

So if there was some type of CGI that I could maybe get some Status that would be cool..

And yes it does change the On Screen C to F after the change that you gave earlier seeing I didn't cover that before again Thanks..

James, I know you are already familiar with creating a config backup as well as the command to display the current settings in the firmware via:
<ip_addr>/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=getConfig&name=All

What this doesn't show is what the actual capabilities of the camera are. For example, to see what all the video encoding capabilities are (resolutions, bitrate options, max FPS, etc), this command will provide it:

<ip_addr>/cgi-bin/encode.cgi?action=getConfigCaps&channel=1 (or channel=2 for substream).

There are a lot of other commands to view various camera capabilities. Search your http api guide for "getCaps" or "getConfigCaps"

Yes sadly the Config backup command don't work for this camera but the other does and yes that was where I got the C part for the start of this thread.. I was kind of looking for a Command that would or could give a little bit of the info on the camera without trying to weed though the Get Config file.. After seeing so much data I end up passing some that I later find out was info I was looking for.. Sadly not finding the info that I am looking for on this camera and thought maybe just maybe there was a CGI that would show some data not pulled from a Get Config command..

Anyway thought I would ask. Thank you very much for the help so much better looking at the Temp in a format I don't have to do math and get a almost number lol
