Amcrest View Pro app drains battery on S7

Post by SJ31113 »

I have observed significant battery drain on my Samsung S7 running Marshmallow 6.0.1 with patch Nov12016. Vision Pro app version 3.41.0207.

Even when the app is not started it consumes 10% battery with phone idle.

I can force stop the app and resolve but obviously this is less than ideal. Just wondering if this is a known bug and is being resolved?

Thanks,
Sj

I'm using iPhone 6 plus running iOS 10.2.1 and I have the same issue. My battery was drain very fast.

Wayway.

Android users should use Tinycam Pro.

The exact same thing is happening to me. I just filed a tech support request. On a fully charged battery, I simply went to the grocery store for 1 hour and my Samsung Edge 7 reports that Amcrest View Pro used 18% of my battery. The app is not even visibly running (I regularly do Close All to close all user-run apps) and hasn't been used in days.

I'm also quite disturbed that apparently nobody from Amcrest monitors this forum to pick up serious issues like this since there has been no useful response to the original post here except other users reporting the same issue. What kind of company is Amcrest. This is the second issue this week since the web interface to my Amcrest DVR no longer works with Chrome or Firefox. It's been busted on Chrome for awhile (with no fix) and now the latest Firefox update caused it to stop working. That issue is apparently caused by some ancient plug-in that Amcrest is using when it seems like the web interface could all be accomplished with 3 year old HTML5 features.

Is Amcrest just not able to keep up with technology any more?
