P2P works fine. How do I set up the app to view when I am off the local network? I use tinycam Pro and it's pretty easy. I use Dyn to I just enter the url:port.
I tried that using Enter IP/Domain/DDNS and I keep getting login time out errors. I tried both the HTTP and RTSP ports. Anyone?
Amcrest Phone App
Re: Amcrest Phone App
No one? I install cameras in people's vacation homes and they aren't there when I do it. With the exception of the Amcrest app, I just furnish them with the camara model, url, port (s), username, and password and I'm all set. The Amcrest app doesn't seem to offer that. If this is the case, what should I recommend my customers with iPhone's use?
Re: Amcrest Phone App
Hello t84a ,
The RTSP port should be used with Tiny cam app. So port forwarding should be set up for the RTSP and http port and they should be entered in respective fields.
In the app do not type ip:port. Instead you need to provide the ip and port numbers in the respective fields. Also with the Amcrest app P2p function it works remotely not just local.
If you are using the Amcrest app, its the TCP port of the camera that should be port-forwarded and added in the app.

Re: Amcrest Phone App
Thanks Melvin. tinyCam works fine. There is no tinyCam for IOS and my customers have iPhones. He problem is that they are in one location and the cameras are at another (vacation home). I go install the cameras but Amcrest View cannot be installed unless you are on the local network. Am I mistaken?

Re: Amcrest Phone App
Just tried again. No luck using IP/Domain/DDNS setup.
Re: Amcrest Phone App
Hello t84a ,
Once the camera is connected to a router wired or via wifi, the camera can be added on the phone from anywhere using P2P method. You need the serial number of the camera, username and password for this.
Did you port forward TCP port 37777 and use that port in the app (Amcrest View)?

Re: Amcrest Phone App
Thanks Melvin. I was doing it wrong. I was going the IP/Domain/DDNS route not the P2P. Luckily, I could get the serial number from the browser connection because I'm in MD and the camera is in FL. That solves everything for me. Thanks again!
BTW. I change the port numbers because I have many cameras at a given location and would have an IP conflict.
