Amcrest IPM-841W Upgrade

The upgrade file from June 21 ( Amcrest_IPC-AWXX_Eng_N_V2.520.AC00.18.R.20170629.bin ) says that a hard reset is required. What does that mean? Do I need to do a factory reset or just rebooting the camera is sufficient?

I don't want to lose all my settings with a hard reset.

Generally, yes. You can back up your settings and then restore them after reset.
