I use a secure 20-character password generated by a password manager, but how secure are these Amcrest cameras when their ports are opened to the Internet? Has anyone tested their security?
I opened the TCP and UDP camera-only ports, and log in with the Amcrest app while outside the house. I do not use any cloud or remote storage of my cameras. I do like having the ability to connect to my camera while outside the house.
The admin ports (80 and 443) are closed to the Internet.
Since the ports are open to the world, how secure is that? Can a hacker gain access to my camera? Are there any additional security measures I can put in place, like restricting IP access or notifying me when someone connects?

Re: Amcrest Cameras and Internet Security
I was always told never to open ports. I never had a problem but have since switched to a VPN.
Re: Amcrest Cameras and Internet Security
If your router can act as a VPN server then that is a better way to go.
