all four cameras lost night vision
all four cameras lost night vision
I didn't check the cameras for a few days - week or less - now all four have lost night vision. Is there a master setting somewhere? Do I have any recourse other than to buy four new cameras?
Re: all four cameras lost night vision
There are some troubleshooting points to solve night vision issue:
Check the plug at the wall hasn't been hijacked by someone and the device hasn't been unplugged. -- Once the sun comes up and there is ambient light in the building the cameras are all crystal clear.
Check for interference if you see lines or noise on the screen. --- None
Be sure that you're not at the maximum wireless range -- cameras are all hard wired
Make sure you have a weather-resistant camera if you're using it outdoors. -- indoors
Clean the lens from time to time if the picture degrades. -- crystal clear as long as there is ambient light
Make sure you haven't exceeded the distance to subject, if the subject isn't clear. --- very clear in light
Check the camera isn't pointing directly at a light source, like a street lamp. It can cause the camera's sensors to get confused. --- building is pitch dark at night, and the camera views for all four are total black with no wavering.

Re: all four cameras lost night vision
Hello,
First try disconnecting and re connecting power to the cameras. Its possible that the adapter for the cameras are faulty assuming you have a DVR system that uses same adapter for all cameras. It might be not providing sufficient power for the night vision mechanism to work. Also if the power cords are extended and too long, you might run into this issue.

I'll check this weekend, thank you!
Re: all four cameras lost night vision
I messed around, checked all of the cables and am fairly convinced that it is the power supply for the cameras. It isn't the same as the power supply for the recording box, so I can't just swap them to test. Any idea how to order a replacement power supply for the cameras?

Hello rojeho ,
You can order from the accessories section of our website. Also, if the purchase was made less than 6 months ago, you can get the adapter for cameras replaced under warranty. For that , please submit the form at the link below.

Re: all four cameras lost night vision
Before I ordered a new power supply, I tested the output and it is showing 12V. Curious thing - when I disconnect all of the cameras from the DVR box and then just plug in one camera to the box, and plug the power supply directly to the camera (bypassing the 4-->1 power pigtail cord) the night vision doesn't work but the camera IR ring glows red and I can see more than before - light metal shows up (although very dim) and car reflectors are super bright. I'm kind of stumped at this point.
