Alarm Event: Illegal Access from Russia

Post by RickA »

Today I got more than ten email alert from my Amcrest's cam

Code: Select all

Alarm Event: Illegal Access
Alarm Input Channel: 1
Alarm Start Time(D/M/Y H:M:S): 26/01/2019 XX:XX:XX
Alarm Device Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Alarm Name:
IP Address: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
w(rm_smtp.Host_Address: 178.57.58.170
It seems to me that they are unsuccessful attempts to access to my ca, from a Russian IP address
How should I do, apart from changing username, password etc,
There are no updates for my camera's firmware
Is it possible that my Cam has been hacked/compromised ?.
Thanks
Melvin

Hi RickA,

If your camera is working on HTTP , Try updating it to HTTPS thats more secured.

Hi Melvin
I do not have a fixed IP for the Cam, but a dynamic one with a ddns service, can I still float? I did not know it was possible.
