960H8 analog night vision scrambled

Post by speekergeek »

Just wanted to share a problem and a fix I encountered, might help someone.

I bought the 960H8 set up, and had ongoing issues with camera 6 mostly, but 5 was having issues too.

The video would be fine during the day, but at night would scramble and go "video loss" from time to time, it looked like an old worn out VHS tape....

I'd get 600+ emails about movement detected on camera 6 each night....

I moved the cable that ran to the camera away from other cords in the attic, stapled it up high, which made it better, but still 100+ emails per night.

Today I decided to snap a ferrite bead over the power cable going to 5 and 6, right at the DVR box...

One bead over both...

Problem is %100 gone.

Analog is more prone to high frequency noise, and a ferrite bead was just the ticket.

I'm gonna pop on over the rest of them, and maybe the video cables too just to be sure.

I nearly twisted my arm patting myself on the back today.

Hope that helps anyone who has a scrambled pic on their system!
