Hi all,
I am new to cameras, so if this is a dumb question, i apologize. Is there a way to take 10 second recordings on IP8m-2496EW-V2 cameras? My understanding is that the Pack Duration setting under Storage->Record Control is what I want, but its limited to only 1 minute recordings for its shortest setting. Is there a trick or some manipulation to allow the cameras to record 10 second videos? Thanks for any and all help!
10 second recordings
Re: 10 second recordings
Hello and Welcome to the Forum
To better understand your needs are you asking about Full time Recording or Event Recordings?
Full time anyway is what it sounds like the area your in. It is from 1 to 120 min per standard setup with a 5 Second before starting point. AKA Pre Event Recording. So what I take this to mean is that when you Schedule your Camera or Recorder it will Record and leave package sizes per setup. Normally a Camera is setup for 8min from Factory. So that means that when you go to DL your footage it will or could give you 8 min files. This will make it so each file you want isn't to large and maybe cause issue if connection is slow or on Cell connection that isn't that great because of tall buildings or mountain ranges.
However in the works of Events when you setup your camera for Motion or if you turned on the IVS events for your camera then you could have between x and z for time. In your Events it would be under Post Record or Record Delay as some say. This is for how long you want the event to record. If you put in lets say 10 as it normally comes setup stock. then on a fast normal event you would have 15 second recorded and or could be 10 in other cameras. Because some will use Pre- Record and Record Delay together for total time of the Delay only and some will work with Pre Record and add the Record Delay time. This will take some playing around with to get your Event times for each recorded moments testing of each Pre record and Delay Record. So your not Confused as it kind of sounds. Delay Record doesn't mean it will wait that long after a Event is triggered to record it really means that is how long the recording will record after event is triggered.
Picture below is from my 2496EW-V2 with IVS enabled, I have Motion disabled so only get IVS events you can see here what I was talking about Record Delay.
