Hi,
I posted this in the technical forum but no response, so thought I would try my luck here..
I have the IP2M-841B camera that I have inside a garden window monitoring the outside. I have IR lights outside. I want the camera to not turn on its own IR lights (because it reflects off the glass and makes it useless in this case); this you can set in the settings. Yet, every time I set it to be off, it forgets this setting after 24-48 hrs and starts automatically turning it on again at dusk. Why does it do this? Is there a fix? Why can't it permanently remember to keep the setting to off?
Thanks.
Why doesn't IP2M-841B remember IR/Night vision setting?

What are your profile settings? Did you try setting the profile to "Day" and change the profile management "always enable" setting? I haven't had your problem. If that doesn't work, keep it on B&W and see if it is still a problem.

Yes, exactly. It is set to Day and "always enable".
Anyway, after the new firmware update, it hasn't forgotten it yet. Keeping my fingers crossed that this bug has been inadvertently fixed? Or was it a known issue before?

Ok, my suspicion is that it forgets this setting if the router it is wifi attached to reboots. If that is the case, I would ask the technical team here why that should be the case; shouldn't it remember the setting even if it had to reconnect?

If you have it configured in Amcrestcloud.com, there is a setting there that will override your local settings. If this is the case, log in to Amcrestcloud.com and you need to click on "drop down arrow" for the camera in question, choose edit, and there you'll find settings for notifications, motion detection, image appearance, and lastly IR mode. I was having issues with the image remaining flipped because of this cloud setting. In your case you obviously want IR mode = Off.

Great! Thanks; will try this. Sounds like this could be it.
