Which side to place camera? A or B?

Post by dtcamcrest »

I'm thinking of buying and installing a bullet camera from Foscam. Which side of the garage door should I place the camera? A or B?

People can walk down the driveway from either side.

Hello dtcamcrest ,

I cannot say that for sure atm. Once you have the camera try putting the camera in both locations in different angles to determine which has the best view. Thank you for showing interest in Amcrest.

A, but further to the corner and make it a PTZ camera so you can look down the house.

As I install, I already have my DVR setup and networked so that I can use my iPhone to determine where the best view is. In this case, I'd go with location A up high and angled to cover driveway and front door.

Definitely A. You will be able to see more without having to pan the camera around. For instance, at B, you'd have to pan all the way to the left to see the front door, which would blind the camera to the garage door and much of the driveway. At A, you could see the front door while also being able to see much of the driveway and anyone walking up to your garage door.
