Its the alarm setting just the prompt that pops up when motion wad detected on screen? Is it for additional hardware to set physical alarms?

Hello ThePoopsmith ,

If you are using the Pro HD indoor IP camera, it has external ports to connect alarm systems. The alarm settings is for that.
