Hi, I just wonder if there is an App I could install on my Smart TV in order to watch my cameras through the TV, just like the Surveillance View app for the Smart phone?
If you do not have an NVR connected to your TV, as I am using the PC-NVR application on a server in another room, there is no way we can watch the cameras on our the TV, and some times using your smart phone or tablet can be tired.
I have using the Smart TV browser, put it ask to install a plug in, and anyway the browser just let you see just 1 camera at a time, so I guess and App would be much better solution.
Thanks.
watch the cameras through an Smart TV?
Re: watch the cameras through an Smart TV?
Hello capd72,
Unfortunately we dont have any apps for smart TV and the plugins are not compatible. The best option is to output the video through HDMI cable.

Re: watch the cameras through an Smart TV?
Ok, thanks Melvin. ...some PC-NVRs have a remote client that can be accessed and watch the "Video Wall" through the web explorer without the need of any plug-in. Do you know if the Amcrest PC-NVR have this functionality? ...I have read the user manual but, even that it has the "Video Wall", it does not mention anything whether it can be accessed remotely through a web browser.

Hello capd72,
You can try the below CGI script that can pull the MJPEG stream of the camera from browser. You need to replace the code with your cameras' ip address, http port, username and password.
http://user:Pwd@ip:port/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi?[channel=<1>]&subtype=1

Re: watch the cameras through an Smart TV?
Thanks for you answer Melvin, but I think I will go for something simpler. I will change just the PC-NVR software for one with an web server.
I have installed Blue Iris and works very well my camera IP2M-841B. It has a web server to access the PC-NVR through a web browser and watch your cameras and also the playback stored in the PC, as well as and Android app for our phones.
I think I will keep this solution of Blue Iris PC-NVR with the Amcrest cameras for my home, as it works very well, and I can go up to 64 cameras. This combination of Blue Iris/Amcrest has all what I was asking for building my home security system.
Thanks!
