Using Parallels for mac to utilize PC-NVR

Post by Giraffe »

I purchased an Amcrest camera because of the claim on their website and literature and even implication from their u-tube tutorial that one could "record to mac and pc". There is a mac download and a windows download for Surveillance Pro, within which exists PC-NVR in the windows download only. That is because you cannot motion detect record to mac. So I'm looking for a solution to this annoyance. I'm thinking of installing Parallels 11 on my mac, and running Windows 10. Has anyone tried this to know if this will allow you to use PC-NVR and record to your mac computer (on the pc platform) and thus have your recordings on your mac?

(Misleading Amcrest utube tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g39SrD4CQYs
shows opening the mac version of Surveillance Pro and shows PC-NVR as one of the options under "Config Operation" which, of course it isn't. All the while with the mac desktop in the background. Then the narrator explains the PC-NVR as if it's actually usable.
Then you go onto the next utube tutorial, narrated by the same person.

In this one she states that this PC-NVR feature is only available with a pc.)
