User name and Amcrest View app (iOS). Bad setup info on their part.

Post by LarryWizzit »

I have created two cameras in two seperate locations with (paid for) cloud monitoring.
So far all is good.
I created them using my iPhone originally, but now that I am home I want to use my iPad for the larger view.

So, I install The AV Pro app on my iPad and proceed to try to import my cameras.

BUT, now the app tells me that my username needs to be at least 8 characters and have capital and lower case characters and numbers - none of which was specified when creating the id in the first place....

As far as I can tell, the username cannot be edited in the profile settings.

This thing is rapidly becoming useless for me if I cannot import the settings to other devices. I was planning on changing phones shortly as well, so Amcrest is going to get back two cameras if this cannot be resolved.

Hello LarryWizzit ,

To add an already working camera on IPad, use the 'P2P' set up option under device manager > Add connected device. It should work with the default username 'admin' and you can use the same password you set up for the camera.

Yeah. I need to retrieve the SN for this method. Pain in the butt as they are installed way up high.
