I'm trying to set a zone to trigger an email when motion is detected on a camera. In SMartClient (or web interface), there is an interface under "alarms" which shows the current view of the camera. You can click on the image and it creates a grid to define a zone sensible to motion (At least I believe that's how it should work). The problem is that clicking on the bottom of the image creates a grid offset from the actual position of the cursor, so it's impossible to actually define a zone accurately. I notice that if you click near the top of the image, there is no offset: the grid is created under the position of the cursor as you expect. Also, creating a single grid element will trigger motion for the whole image. In short, the interface is quite buggy and impossible to use.
I have version V6.1.2.3.
Help?

I've been having tons of issues similar to yours as well. It's getting quite frustrating because the web interface cloud isn't accessible either. Sometimes it works , most times it hasn't for me. HOpe you get an answer soon.
Re: Unable to set a zone for motion alarm in SmartClient
Are you using the web browser plugin or the stand-alone software? I find the web-browser plugin is basically useless. I can set a motion area with the stand-alone very easily, but alarms trigger if there is any motion anywhere in the frame. As far as *I* can tell the motion -> area is ignored.
For example, I have my motion -> area set for basically the lower half of the image, but cars driving by on the street which just barely show up at the top of the image, *far* outside the defined area, trigger an alarm most of the time and always trigger a "motion detection" recording.
This makes the outside cameras far less useful than they otherwise would be since I am left with dozens of recordings over night, none of which are recoding anything I want to see, which is something moving in my driveway.
