trying to add s/n for cloud storage but it says s/n needs to be at least 18 characters long which it is but it still won't take it.

Sometimes if you are copy pasting there might be a period or space added which might cause the issue.

great that worked but now it wants cam name & password, i don't remember what i named it. where can i find the name ?

Its the username and password for the camera. The username is admin and password is whatever you have set up the camera with.
